Shochi's perm for the movie, it is not that bad (like gorilla-phase - that one still tops the list of "looks sho should never try out again"). It is just that in most of the angles coupled with the old-fashioned clothes, he ends up looking like a matronly aunt.
Straight hair still suits him best.
Looking at the horrible perms in Japanese dramas and movies (i am pointing my finger at you domyouji), it feels like they have a fixed image of what CURLY HAIR should look like and it just makes us naturally curly-haired people facepalm. Why yes! I do have curls.
